E2zero® Smart Air Barrier

Function

The E2ZERO vapor variable Air Barrier reduces the amount of moisture transfer, protects structural systems, and prevents mold and rot in building enclosures.

The moisture-adaptive membrane offers high vapor diffusion tightness in winter (0.7 Perm, protection against condensation) and maximum vapor diffusion openness in summer (4 Perm, facilitates rapid drying to the interior).

Application

After the insulation is installed between rafters/studs, the E2ZERO Smart Air Barrier is applied over the insulation on the interior side of the building enclosure and fastened with staples (tacker) or wide-head nails. Membranes should overlap approx. 4´´ (100 mm). Once the membrane is fitted, all overlaps and joints to adjacent structural components must be sealed with suitable E2zero tapes to guarantee a seamless, airtight layer. If pipes or cables penetrate the membrane, they should be sealed with E2zero Interior Air-Sealing Sleeves and/or E2-FAST20 Flexible Air-Sealing Tape.
